The elections have past and many have become distraught over decisions that have been made—choices our nation ran with. Questions regarding the fate that will follow those choices are flooding many hearts and minds. While it is evident the Bible still proclaims “Those who sow to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption,” I like what our pastor constantly reminds us of: “This didn’t take God by surprise.”
In other words, God knew exactly what was going to happen! The good news is He’s still on the Throne; the earth is (still) the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, and He is (still) able to make those who are His to stand strong!!
My question would be then: if the Word of God says that in the last days “darkness will cover the face of the earth” (and it does), and that the Lord Himself will arise over us (His people) and the peoples of the earth will come to the brightness of our shining (and they will), then why should we who are informed of these things be concerned as if somehow God Almighty (the Lord Jehovah) is suddenly no longer in control and His Word has lost its power?
Let’s look at this wonderful truth found in Isaiah 60: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.” (vv.1-3 italics added for emphasis).
It has come into my heart (stronger as the years go on) that our exodus from planet earth, what we’ve come to call the rapture of the Church, will be similar to that of the Exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt. The Lord spoke to my heart some years ago: “Tell My people they are in the land of Goshen.” I knew exactly what He meant: in these last days the Lord was going to show Himself strong on our behalf, making a difference between us and the world.
Now, if you look at our Scripture in Isaiah you see that difference. Those in the world being in gross darkness and the Church being in the Light, or as Jesus put it we are “the Light of the world” (Matt. 5:14). Paul said to the Church in Ephesus: “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;” (Ephesians 5:14-18).
Two points I’d like to make here, 1) This address is to a group that have evidently fallen asleep, which further implies a form of death or darkness having creped in; the promise being “Christ shall give thee light” once awakened. 2) This giving of light is equated to being “filled with the Spirit.” Notice in the book of Acts the disciples need for re-fillings of the Spirit after that of the day of Pentecost: “And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.” (Act 4:31) This prayer meeting took place after Peter and John were persecuted for preaching the Word of God! Instead of quitting—they prayed! God answered their prayer by filling them with His Spirit!! The result of that re-filling was “they spoke the Word of God with boldness.”
The devil couldn’t shut them up!! And he can’t shut us up!! It’s time to pray; it’s time to speak boldly the Word of God; it’s time to awaken from the sleep-state the circumstances of this life have lulled us into!!! God’s got a plan and the devil cannot stop it! If you’re concerned with ungodly leadership—pray for them as we’ve been commanded by the Lord. Don’t bother yourself about it though, read in the book of Daniel chapter four how God handled the ungodly Nebuchadnezzer (I’ll not recount it all here but highlight some things); He had a night vision:
“‘This is what I saw as I was stretched out on my bed. I saw a big towering tree at the center of the world. As I watched, the tree grew huge and strong. Its top reached the sky and it could be seen from the four corners of the earth. Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit abundant—enough food for everyone! Wild animals found shelter under it, birds nested in its branches, everything living was fed and sheltered by it. … You will learn that the High God rules over human kingdoms and that he arranges all kingdom affairs. … Let him lose his mind and get an animal’s mind in exchange, and let this go on for seven seasons … At the end of the seven years, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked to heaven. I was given my mind back and I blessed the High God, thanking and glorifying God, who lives forever. His sovereign rule lasts and lasts, his kingdom never declines and falls. And that’s why I’m singing—I, Nebuchadnezzar—singing and praising the King of Heaven: everything he does is right, and he does it the right way. He knows how to turn a proud person into a humble man or woman.” (Daniel 4:10-12, 16, 25, 34 & 37 italics for emphasis; MSG Bible).
Be blessed and encouraged knowing that our God is Sovereign over all and we’ve already won, read the back of the Book!

Thank you! I’m not really an author as some would think of what an author is. I write prophetically, which is a concise way to say I write as the Spirit of God moves upon me to do so. As we wait for His stirring might I suggest that you click on the other writings I have already posted (if I recall there should be around 70+ different pages to visit). Again, thank you for your kindness!! 🙂
Dead pent content material, thanks for selective information. “You can do very little with faith, but you can do nothing without it.” by Samuel Butler.
Thank you; I agree ‘you can do nothing without faith,’ but I wouldn’t go as far as saying ‘You can do very little with faith,’ since Hebrews 11:6 says that it takes faith to please God, and Romans 14:23b says that “whatever is not from faith is sin.” Hebrews further says “For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.” When we hear this powerful Word, Romans says that faith is the result [comes](10:17). Now the ‘hearing’ spoken of here is not that of the physical ears, but of the spiritual; as the banner of my home page quotes “He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the church” (Revelation 3:23). In his love, Mike
Love it!
You get a lot of respect from me for writing these helpful aritcels.
Thank you! The Scripture teaches that Elijah was a man who had like passions as we. In other words, he was just as human as you and I. We simply read the record of the message God brought to His people through him. Now I’m not by any stretch comparing myself with the ministry of Elijah; I’m simply pointing out that the anointing–Who is the Holy Spirit–was working through him, just as the anointing works through us! Yes, us! If you have been born-again you have that anointing and can be a vessel of God to speak to His people, too! Do what Paul instructed Timothy to do–stir up your anointing (check deep within your heart; what do you find yourself doing and enjoying that involves giving outwardly to others?) and represent God as the ambassador He has called you to be!! 🙂
I’m still learning from you, but I’m trying to achieve my goals. I definitely love reading all that is posted on your site.Keep the posts coming. I liked it!
Thank you Morgan, I appreciate your kind words! We all learn together as we grow from faith to faith and strength to strength, by the Spirit of the LORD (Who is the Teacher of us all!). 🙂
